five songs ----- 31st March 2011
So as something to occupy my mind from time to time I was thinking i’d maybe post up a regular blog about songs i’m currently enjoying. Songs are my favourite things after all and it will be nice to share them with you readers out there. (hi mum).
1) Bruce Hornsby - Every Little Kiss
Bruce Hornsby is an absolute G on the piano, and his songs give me a little palpitations. nice palpitations. He played on I Can’t Make You Love Me which is all you need to know really. This is a big tune of his I heard on the radio the other night. Other Bruce’s I like include Springsteen and Willis.
2) Don Henley - The End of The Innocence
Bruce also played on this song by Don Henley. Don Henley was in The Eagles. Then he left The Eagles? I’m not sure. He also wrote a very good song called New York Minute. Its got at least 12 good bits in it which = very good on the scale of good songing.
3) Jamie Woon - Lady Luck
I like this song by Jamie Woon because it reminds me of 90’s R&B which is pretty much what I spent my entire childhood listening to. It particularly reminds me of this Whitney classic: It’s Not Right But It’s Okay, Other R&B classics that I have recently been rediscovering include Blackstreet - Don’t Leave Me (first thing i ever learnt on a keyboard) and obviously pretty much everything TLC ever did.
4) Aretha Franklin - What a Fool Believes
Aretha Franklin is the greatest singer of all time! and this is a cover of one of my favourite songs of all time! This is not exactly classic Aretha but its facking great.
5) Todd Rundgren – Sometimes I Don’t Know What to Feel
I love you todd
